Air New Zealand is kicking off 2026 on a high note with a New Year Sale, live from 7-19 January 2026.

The sale offers some of the airline's lowest fares of the year across its entire network, including domestic, Australian, Pacific Island, North American and Asian destinations, giving New Zealanders the perfect excuse to lock in the trips they have been dreaming about.

Air New Zealand Chief Commercial Officer, Scott Wilkinson, says the New Year sale is designed to give customers the chance to set their 2026 travel plans in motion early.

"If you've been waiting for a sign to book flights to the destination you've been dreaming about, this is it! With every destination across our network on sale, we're helping Kiwi customers kick off the year with a plan and a boarding pass.

"Whether it's a long-awaited reunion, a new adventure, or simply a well-earned break, we're making it more affordable for people to get those trips in the diary and start the year on a positive note."

Air New Zealand's sale fares are available to every destination on the airline's network. Example fares include:

Domestic

Domestic fares start from $69 one way, including:

  • Auckland to Gisborne
  • Auckland to Napier
  • Auckland to Tauranga
  • Christchurch to Dunedin

Trunk routes are also included, with:

  • Auckland to Wellington from $79
  • Auckland to Christchurch from $79
  • Auckland to Queenstown from $99

Australia

Those looking to hop across the Tasman can enjoy one way seat only fares from:

  • Auckland or Christchurch to Brisbane from $215
  • Auckland or Christchurch to the Gold Coast from $220
  • Wellington or Christchurch to Sydney from $225
  • Auckland to Sydney from $235

Pacific Islands

For a tropical escape, seat only fares begin at:

  • Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch to Nadi from $228

  • Christchurch to Rarotonga (new route) from $338

North America

Customers heading further abroad can book one way economy fares from:

Asia

Those travelling to Asia can snap up one way economy fares from:
